Video Game Design

For those of you who don't know I have always wanted to be a video game designer when I get older. I can't explain why but ever since I first started playing video games when I was younger I have been fascinated by the world of video games. The stories, the characters, the landscapes; they all are part of something that just takes the form of a portal that leads to our wildest fantasies. There isn't much more I can say except if you ever have an idea or even a tiny little concept that involves a video game, please let me know. I recently have started to work on game concepts and every little idea or thought help inspire me to come up with more and more ideas. So I thank anyone who helps in advance with a big THANK YOU!

Christmas, Christmas Time Is Here!

Woooooooooo! It is finally my FAVORITE time of the year, Christmas time! Time to break out the Christmas lights and get a tree and put up the ornaments and get out the stockings and cook good for and bundle up for the cold weather and listen to soppy Christmas songs and watch Christmas specials on TV and go around sing Christmas carols and wrapping presents and eating candy and... and... and... and... AND! Can you tell I am excited for this time in 2 weeks? Anyway who here still needs to get presents? Anyone? Just me? Oh well I will pull something together!

Well I think I might have to stop myself here otherwise I will probably end up going on and on and on and on, and personally I just don't have time for that. Oh well, till next time!

Life and Its Many Truths

Okay so I haven't posted anything in a couple of months now (and I keep saying that I will keep up at it, but I just don't have the time these days) and I have been doing some deep thinking. What I have come up with are some truths (that I personally hold true; I'm not saying that they hold true to every single person out there) about the world around us. So sit back, relax, and enjoy!

Once you pick a path stick to it to the best of you ability (unless that path leads to death, destruction, or abuse)

Never cheat on anything, be it a test or on a spouse, cheaters never prosper.

Failing at something is not a bad thing. Failure is only a set back that can always be overcome.

Not matter what you do in life there will always be a positive and negative outcome to any situation, you just may not experience both.

Perfection does not exist. Everyone has their own little "imperfections" that make them who they are as an individual.

Listen to your parents and elders. They have been around for a while and they know what they are talking about.

Respect your parents and elders. They raised you and have watched you grow into the person you are today. Without them you would not be around at all.

Friends will come and friends will go, but the ones that really matter are always there beside you.

The world is full of choices, some are good and some are bad. Be careful about how you make your choices because they can't ever be changed, and they will shape who you will become.

Spend everyday you can to its fullest. There will be some days were you cannot however but you must make the best with what you have.

Life is short, make sure you don't blink and miss out.

Age is just a number. Your as young as you want to be.

No matter what you think, life is NEVER that bad. Suicide accomplishes nothing and is never the answer.

The glass is always half full; never half empty.

No matter what the situation there is always a silver lining.

Schools in...... again...... UGH

Well ladies, and random man thing who no one knows, its that time of year again, that's right; SCHOOL. The time of year we all love to hate and hate to love. Old faces are seen again and new faces are added to the mix. Also who can't forget the adults who run our lives: Teachers! Thank God that there are cool teachers out there because if there weren't then school would be so mind numbingly boring that no one would learn anything, and then we would really be in a mess. So to end this post (which has been my first since my 1 summer post) I would like to wish you all good luck in this up coming school year!

Football

Rain is pouring down in buckets, hammering your helmet like a thousand tiny nails. You are covered in turf from head to toe. Your tired as hell and you just want to sit down. Your head is ringing and your vision is blurring. You just want to quit. But then you remember, you remember why you are here, and what this stands for. You remember all the others who have come before you and faced the odds that you now face. You look up at the scoreboard at see the lights write out "14" for the home side and "10" for the visitor side. The flame that burns deep inside you bursts into a roaring fire that consumes you and pushes you to go that extra mile, that extra step, to achieve your goal. You only have 1 minute and 27 seconds left, the other team has possession on your 15. This is it, now or never; you have spent all year training for this moment. All you can see is blue and purple and all you need to know is avoid the blue and destroy anything that looks remotely purple. This is the end, the last moments of the game, the end of the end. You hear the referee's whistle being blown and know that it is time to end it. The clock slowly counts down the seconds till its over, but you know that it won't come fast enough and that it is up to you and your team around you to end it. The quarterback begins his count and you prepare for the beginning of the end...

Summer!

Ahhhhh it's finally here, SUMMER. Probably the BEST time of the year. Its a time for relaxation and rejuvination after a long school year.................. for MOST of you.

But for ME I have this little life consuming thing called FOOTBALL. Yes, I do love the sport but it's gonna take a HUGE chunk out of my summer. At least I get at least one inside joke a day and I will get a MAJOR tan. 

So anyway I wish you all a happy relaxing summer.

Marvel vs DC

Ok everyone has heard of comic books, and everyone who has even heard of a comic book knows about Marvel and DC. Marvel and DC have been competing since before anyone in our generation was even thought of. Now everyone has their own opinion to which is better, myself included. I will try to be unbiased in this little blurb about the two companies. Emphasis on TRY. 

Ok so I will start with Marvel 1st.

Marvel is the home to my famous superheroes including:

Free Comic Book Day

Ok, for those of you who don't know me well I LOVE comics. Especially Spiderman. I mean come on its a guy who is SPIDER-LIKE what more do you NEED? Anyway Comics have been a passion of mine for a while now and I have A LOT. 

Now you are probably wondering why I am talking about this. Well for those of you who were smart enough to read the heading skip the next sentence or two. This rant about comics is for Free Comic Book Day, which just happens to be tomorrow. Free Comic Book Day is a day where comic providers make one comic that is given out for, you guessed it, free. Anywho, FCBD is every comic geek's dream. So for those of you comic lovers out there head to your nearest comic book store to find a ton of free stuff.

The 1st Post Since Forever.

Yea on my last post I know I promised more posts but I have been WAAAAAYYYY too busy lately so I just haven't gotten around to it. I also see we have one new follower which makes our number of followers the cursed number (I better fix this). So anywho a lot has gone on since I last posted, here's a quick run down:

- Constantly played AQWorlds

- Have been playing a lot of baseball

- Took a national German final

- Half way done with state testing

- And a whole bunch of stuff that I don't feel like saying (aka that's all folks)

Reason Your All So Bored

I am sorry but I haven't gotten to get to my blog in FOREVER ........ well anyway I'm back now so all your boredom can go away. WOO! So in other news MAX came out last week. I finished the day after I got it and a friend of mine finished 2 days after she got it. Well anyway it was AWESOME!

Online Games

Ok when I say "Online Games" you are all probably groaning in your minds 

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE DO NOT LET HIM BE THINKING OF WORLD OF WARCRAFT!!!!!

Well the good news is that I am not; I haven't sold my soul to that devil ....................... yet. 

No I don't play WOW (World of Warcraft for those of you who a bigger noobs than the rest of the world). I think people over obsess about WOW; I mean there are PLENTY of reasons that WOW is bad but the two that repulse me the most are that it has KILLED people because they overplayed and the fact that a TEACHER at my school plays it (a LITTLE creepy). 

Ok now that i have reassured you that I won't talk about WOW (a little late for that) on to the main subject.

If I had to recommend one game (or games since they are whole bunch of games that somehow tie together [we haven't been given exact details yet] into one big story line) they would be the games of Artix Entertainment. Games that fall under this category would be Adventure Quest (their 1st game), Dragon Fable (their 2nd game), Mech Quest (their 3rd game), and their newest game Adventure Quest Worlds. The man who runs the show in these games is Artix and he does a pretty darn good job at it considering all the chaotic stuff that happens at there home base on release days. Artix and his team run a new release in ALL of their games every week. Do you know how much coding drawing and raw thinking is put into each release? Well the answer is MORE THAN YOU CAN IMAGINE! (If you can imagine pretty big it's still bigger) Artix doesn't do this alone (no matter how much he says he DOES do) he has got a great group of people who help him every week to get the job done. His team includes, the ever loving mad magical smith, Warlic the mage, Ganolith the dragon slaying crazed dragon slayer, Captain Rubarb the notorious pirate who hacked the system (only once), and the captain of the lands knights Rolith. All in all these guys know how to make games so go try them out NOW! GO GO GO GO GO!

Weight Lifting

Phew! Man am I tired today, for those of you who don't know I take a weightlifting class at my school and today we had a bench max. For those of you who DON'T know who that is or can't give a good guess a bench max is when you put on as much weight on the bench press and try to do as many repetitions as possible. For those of you who DO know what a bench max is then good job you something about weightlifting; GIVE YOURSELF A PAT ON THE BACK! Well any way after the bench max I had to continue on a regular routine and guess what I had upper body. So anyway moral of the story: don't try to do your normal standard for weightlifting if you just did a bench max. 

This reminds me of a funny story of a time when I went weightlifting with Time over the summer. So one day I decided that I wanted to go to the gym, but the person who i normally went with was sick so they couldn't go, and since I really felt like going no matter what I went against all logic and asked Time to go. And of course he agreed because he does almost anything I tell him to (except go into the freezer). So we go to the gym, and everything is working out just fine; we get some good work in and then we come to the bench press. That day I had decided to up the weight on the bar; mistake number one. Also I had let Time bring his Ipod with him; mistake number two. And finally I had Time spot me (which I couldn't avoid anyway); mistake number three I'm out. So I start to bench the bar, I get past the first three presses no problem, at four and five I struggle a little, but when I get to number six I can't raise the bar. When I tell Time to grab the bar and pull it up nothing happens, so I look up and see he's staring at the ceiling humming along with the song on his Ipod. I struggled to keep the bar from flattening my chest while practically screaming Time's name, and as luck would have it he heard me and helped me get the bar back up. Thank god the song changed! So the moral of this story: DON'T BRING TIME TO THE GYM! 

Books

Ok now it's time for my intake on books. And trust me I have read A LOT of books in my 14 years.

So now I am gonna list some of my favorite book series, tell you who there written by, and a brief summary of them. 

Maximum Ride by James Patterson

If u read my last post you should have know this one was coming. Maximum Ride is the story of a 14 year old girl, named Max, who has been genetically altered to have wings. Max's main goals in the story are to stay out of the clutches of the ever hated scientists of the School (a biotech lab in the middle of Death Valley, CA), find her biological parents, keep her Flock (a group of kids, who have also been genetically modified to have wings, that follow Max on her journey) safe, and the big one: Save The World. Filled with action and suspense this is a must read. 

Oh and by the way did I mention these kids can FLY?

When the Wind Blows by James Patterson

When the Wind Blows is a story that Patterson wrote before Maximum Ride, and has a similar story line. In When the Wind Blows we focus on a different Max, her flock, and two humans. These two humans are the main difference between Maximum Ride and When the Wind Blows. Their names are Frannie O'Neil and Kit Harrison, and after a series of mysterious murders they are brought together and find Max who had just escaped a School of her own. Another thriller (with a little romance) must read.

Eragon by Christoper Paolini

This is one of my all time favorite books. Before I even summarize it for you go out and buy it NOW! This is an AWESOME book, you will love it I assure you. This is the story of 15 year old Eragon who, while hunting in the cursed mountain range of the Spine, finds a large polished rock. After a series of life changing events Eragon finds out that it is no ordinary rock but that it is a dragon egg which hatched for him. This throws Eragon's life into chaos with action, love, and death. This is the story of a boy growing into a man and becoming the hopes of a nation.

James Patterson

Ok, who here has heard of James Patterson? Well if you have heard of him give yourself a pat on the back; if not SHAME ON YOU! For those of you who don't know who James Patterson is he is an AWESOME author he's written a whole bushel of series. There are books like When the Wind Blows, Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment, and the Dangerous Days of Daniel X. All these books are great examples of him work. 

So now what are u gonna do? Go to your nearest bookstore and pick up one of James Patterson's books!

Five

Ok I will try to make this post not TOO long, but I warn you I could just keep going and going.

So here I go.

Five, the fifth number in the numerical system, the date of my birth month and birth date. and the BEST number ever. Have you ever seen a day where the numbers of the date line up perfectly and u can find that number of important things in the day? Well it doesn't happen often just the month the day and the year rarely line up by itself. I can think of only two days where this has happened, March third 2003 and May fifth 2005. May fifth 2005? u might ask well that day happened to be my 11th birthday (my age has nothing to do with the 5 thing) and on that day we had 5/5/05 it was Thursday, the fifth day of the week, and I was in the fifth grade. Yes I know how lucky am I that my birthday happened on one of those extremely rare days where the date lines up and that number of important things equal your number. This is just one example of how five is tops, here are some others:

- when we learn to do counting the second easiest thing to count by is 5's 

- we have 5 fingers (including the thumb) on each hand

- we have 5 toes on each foot

- I have 5 pets (two cats, one dog, one hermit crab, and one frog)

- It's the 3rd easiest number to multiply by

- we start school at the age of 5

- two celebrate two holidays on May 5th (5/5)

- at five you can be considered a "big kid"

- five dollar foot long (self explanatory)

- there are 5 Maximum Ride books (well, there WILL be five next month)

- there will be 5 Percy Jackson books

- May(the 5th month) is the last full month of the school year

- being 5"5' is an average hight

- at age 50 you have reached the middle of your life (for some)

- 5 = awesome

Times and Lifes

What is Time? A question that has stumped many for years.

Well..... Time is really a good friend of mine. He is a lazy one at times, but at other times he can be a hyperactive son of a gun. Have you ever heard the saying "time slows down," well even when he isn't hyped up on sweetarts he NEVER slows down; all he does is GO GO GO! Well saying Time doesn't slow down is a lie, but the only time he can slow down is when I throw he in the freezer. So in a sense we can't slow down time ......... but we CAN freeze him. To tell the truth when the day is done there is nobody I would rather spend my days with.

What is a Life? Something almost anyone has seen but not many people have met. 

If u hadn't noticed yet when i talk about Life I'm not talking about life like you, me, and every other living thing on this great blue and green marble, I'm talking about another friend of mine, but I don't live with this one. Life isn't my area of strong point but i do know he isn't always lawful. Like one time I had to put Time in the freezer so the police couldn't catch Life after he did something (I don't know what he did so don't ask) so Life could escape to Mexico. Other things good to know about Life is that he lives with my friend Shabnam (she has her own blog too) so she knows the most about him (this could lead to a post by her, who knows?).
